Leah DeVun Loves Nature vs. Future

I ran across Brooklyn-based designer Nina Valenti’s modern clothing line, Nature vs. Future, a few years ago at a swap meet–style young designers’ market in New York City. Now Valenti’s structured and futuristic pieces are available to the public directly through the Nature vs. Future site, as well as in select stores around the country. I’m wild for all things asymmetrical, and Valenti’s collection is full of oddly shaped hemlines, collars, and cut-outs. Even better, much of the clothing is made from sustainable, renewable, or biodegradable materials, including fabrics made of soy, corn, seaweed, and soda pop bottles. Who knew?
