Who
said millinery was dead? Chicago-based designer/milliner Sara
Czosnyka must not have gotten the notice when she created her
ultra-cool hat collection Samsara (which refers to the cycle of death
and rebirth in Hinduism and Buddhism). The name of her collection is
fitting being that her handmade hats are usually embellished with
things that have had “previous lives” such as animal teeth, fur,
leather, seashells, quills, and bones. My favorite hats in the
collection are "Yellow Bone" and "Your Name Here," which is
accented with a gold or silver custom name plate. With equestrian- and
marching-band-inspired styles, these unisex hats aren’t for shrinking
violets, but for the free spirited and those with a good sense of
fashion humor. You can check out the full collection at
samsaradesign.com or myspace.com/samsaradesign.
