The 1900s DJ the December 11 event

A crew of readers showed up an hour early, at 6 p.m. — ignoring the frozen rain outside — to the Venus Zine winter issue release party on December 11. Smart idea considering that the venue, Relax Lounge in Chicago's Ukrainian Village neighborhood, was packed by 7:30 p.m.
Sponsored by Effen Vodka and 312 Goose Island Beer, the candle-lit lounge reached its capacity on the icy Tuesday evening. A mix of Venus Zine readers, musicians, local label reps, and creative types chilled to the '60s and '70s rock spun by Chicago's 1900s.
